Abstract
This paper will examine how Information and Communication Technologies (ICTs) can
empower young women in the education and economic sectors, as well as support their
advocacy efforts to end violence against women and girls, with a particular focus on young
women in Africa. It will highlight various initiatives and strategies implemented by women's
organizations to empower young women through ICTs. Additionally, the paper will discuss the
challenges these women face in accessing and utilizing ICTs for their self-determination. The
presentation will conclude with recommendations on measures needed to enable young women
to fully harness the potential of ICTs and the internet for their empowerment.
